Absence

So it's been a long night (as seen by the time this is being published), and an even longer week. I feel as if some of my more elegant thoughts come at bizarre times like these. A year ago I read the Genesis Creation story and was introduced to a new concept: darkness is the absence of something, not an entity in-and-of itself. I realize tonight, at 4:30am, that the most dangerous thing is not an entirely deprave thing...it is the mere absence of anything good. If you distance yourself from good for long enough, you will find yourself lost an all-together unfamiliar place with no idea of where to go.
